360° tours for campsites · Ostholstein & the Baltic coast

Show the site before anyone books it.

We photograph your campsite in 360 degrees, from reception and pitch fields to the sanitary block, the beach path and the rental units, and build a walkable tour out of it. It runs on your website, in your Google profile and in your listing on campingportal.eu.

The shooting plan

Ten points, and the site is walkable.

A shooting point is one position where the camera stands. Click through the example site: each point says what gets photographed there and why guests want to see exactly that.

Shooting point 1

Entrance and barrier

The first point answers the question asked from the driver seat: am I in the right place, and will I even fit through? Long rigs get to see the entrance in advance.

Shooting point 2

Reception

Opening hours, key handover, the bread service, the noticeboard with the rules. Anyone who has seen reception knows how the site is run: tidily, or by shouting across the yard.

Shooting point 3

Pitch field

The single most important shot. How big are the pitches, how close together, hedges or open grass? This is what camping forums argue about, and it is exactly what nobody shows.

Shooting point 4

Comfort pitches

Power, fresh water and waste water right at the pitch. The surcharge only sells if people can see the difference, so the tour puts them on a standard pitch and a comfort pitch in turn.

Shooting point 5

Sanitary block

The point where bookings are decided. Campers expect the worst and are relieved when it looks different. Showing a clean, modern sanitary block is money in the bank.

Shooting point 6

Playground

Families book by the playground. They want to know whether it is visible from the pitch, whether the equipment is new and whether it sits in the shade.

Shooting point 7

Kiosk and restaurant

Coffee, ice cream, dinner without cooking. One look at the terrace replaces three sentences of description that nobody reads anyway.

Shooting point 8

Beach or shore access

Every directory lists the distance to the water as a number. What the path there looks like, dune, steps, jetty or meadow, is listed nowhere. Here it is.

Shooting point 9

Rental unit

Mobile home, barrel cabin, shepherd hut, glamping tent. This shot pays for itself fastest, because the highest nightly rates hang on it and the guest arrives with nothing but trust.

Shooting point 10

Service point

Fresh water, chemical toilet, grey water, waste. Unglamorous, but every camper looks for it on arrival day, and now they find it in the tour instead of at reception.

An example site, not a real site plan. Which points your campsite needs is something we work out on the phone beforehand. For some it is eight, for others thirty.

Why it pays off for a campsite

Camping is searched online and lived offline. Between the two sits a decision based on three photos and a star rating.

Fewer turnarounds at the gate

People who have seen how close the pitches are do not arrive and drive off again. That sounds like lost business but is the opposite: you get guests who suit your site, and you save the disappointed review.

The sanitary block sells itself

At campsites the sanitary block decides the booking, and it is the one thing nobody ever shows. If you have just rebuilt it for €200,000, do not hide it behind a phone snapshot.

Rental units without the back and forth

Mobile homes, barrel cabins, glamping tents: highest rates, most questions. A walk through the unit answers all of them at once.

Filling the shoulder season

In July the site fills itself. In May and September you have to convince someone who is still hesitating, and that is exactly when a tour showing the place without midsummer crowds does its work.

Finding staff

Seasonal staff for reception, cleaning and catering are hard to come by. Showing where somebody would work, and often live, beats any wording in the job ad.

Pay once, use everywhere

Website, Google profile, Campingportal, ADAC listing, Facebook, the trade fair stand in Düsseldorf. You get every panorama as a file and may use them for your site without limit.

And then we put it where people are searching.

A tour on your own website is seen by people who already know your site. Everyone else is searching in a directory. So every package comes with a year of Premium on campingportal.eu, with your tour built into the listing.

campingportal.eu 47,994 campsites in the directory
5,662camping shops and dealers €69 to €149annual value of the extra

What Premium gives you

Normally €69 a year
  • Ad-free listing, no competitor banners next to your site
  • Highlighted placement in lists, map and search
  • A direct booking enquiry button instead of "visit website"
  • Edit your own text and photos, whenever you like
  • Statistics on how often your listing is opened and clicked
  • Verification badge for your own website

Premium Plus, from the "Saison" package

Normally €149 a year
  • Everything in Premium
  • Seasonal offers to push the early and late season
  • Individual pitches and rental units as separate entries
  • Booking widget to embed on your own website
  • Webhook connection to your booking system

The tour inside the listing

We build the finished tour into your Campingportal listing as its own tab, next to photos, map and reviews. Anyone opening your site in the directory can step straight inside without leaving the page. The same embed runs on your own website and in your Google Business Profile.

The 360° embed on Campingportal is being built right now. It is planned for the 2027 season and comes at no extra cost for anyone booking today. Until then the tour runs on your website and in your Google profile, linked from the listing.

Take a look at campingportal.eu

One thing up front

campingportal.eu is our own portal. We say so right away so you do not have to find out for yourself. That is exactly why we can include the Premium package at all, since it costs us no commission to anyone else. And it is why we can actually build your tour into the listing instead of hoping some other operator ships the feature one day.

What makes campsites different

A campsite is full of people on holiday.

In a workshop you photograph machines. On a campsite you photograph somebody else's home for a fortnight, washing line, children and open awning included. Ignore that and you buy yourself trouble. Here is how we handle it:

We shoot outside high season

In early May or in September the site is green and still quiet. It looks like midsummer without anyone ending up in shot who did not ask to be.

Notice and announcement first

You get a ready-made notice for reception and the noticeboard. Guests know when we are coming and can have their area left out.

People and plates removed

Whatever does end up in frame gets retouched: faces, number plates, name signs on caravans. That is part of our editing, not an add-on.

Seasonal pitches only by agreement

Seasonal pitches are furnished and personal. We only photograph there where you tell us it is agreed, or we skip the row entirely.

Timing

Book in winter, shoot in spring, benefit all season.

For campsites a 360° tour has one right moment and several wrong ones. The right one sits before the first wave of bookings, not in the middle of it.

Nov to Feb

Enquire and plan

The site is closed, you have time and so do we. We settle which points get shot and fix a date for the spring.

May

Shooting day

Everything is green, the grounds are ready for the season, and the site is not full yet. The best window of the year. Second choice: the second half of September.

May to June

Going live

Three to five working days after the shoot the tour is running. In good time before the summer holidays and before people book the late season.

Year-round

Keeping it current

New sanitary block, rebuilt reception, three new barrel cabins? We swap individual points without rebuilding the tour.

Postponing for weather costs nothing. If it rains we come back, because a grey tour helps no one, us least of all.

Kit · Insta360 X5 and drone

Shot in 8K, not quickly on a phone.

A campsite is an outdoor shoot with hard light, deep shade under trees and water that reflects. That is exactly where phone panoramas fall apart. We work from a tripod, with exposure brackets and a current-generation 360° camera.

  • 72-megapixel panoramas in 8K, still sharp on a large monitor
  • HDR against blown-out sky and black shade under the trees
  • Faces, number plates and name signs retouched out
  • Tripod at the same height at every point, so walking through feels steady
  • A 360° aerial panorama over the site, the overview no ground shot delivers
  • Runs in any phone browser: no app, no plugin, no download

How it works

From the first call to the finished tour usually takes two weeks, of which you need one morning.

1

Call beforehand

We go over the site on the aerial photo and fix the shooting points. Usually two corners turn out to matter more than you thought and one matters less. Half an hour.

2

Date and notice

You get the notice for reception and a short list of what should be cleared first: building material, signs with last year's prices, the trailer behind the sanitary block.

3

Shooting on site

Half a day to a full day, depending on the package. We walk the site, you get on with your work. The aerial shot needs ten quiet minutes over the take-off spot, and that is the extent of the disruption.

4

Editing

Stitching panoramas, matching exposure, removing people and plates, linking the points into a tour, placing info points. Three to five working days.

5

Live in three places

The tour goes onto your website, into your Google Business Profile and into your Campingportal listing, and we activate the Premium year while we are at it. You also get every file.

Packages by size of site

Rule of thumb: one shooting point per area, large pitch fields need two or three. If you are unsure which package fits, call us and we will look at the aerial photo together.

First reference on the Hohwachter Bucht

We are looking for a site to go first.

We are based in Behrensdorf, between Hohwacht and Lütjenburg, right in the middle of campsite country. The first campsite tour is being made here. One site gets it at pilot rates and lets us name it as a reference in return.

References from real campsites follow as soon as the first tours are live.

  • The "Saison" package at half price: €475 instead of €949
  • 12 months of Campingportal Premium Plus still included
  • You give us honest feedback, including the uncomfortable kind
  • We may show the tour as a reference and name your site
  • For a site in Ostholstein or Kreis Plön
Become the pilot site

Where we shoot

We sit on the Hohwachter Bucht. Within Ostholstein and Kreis Plön, travel is included in every package. That is not a sales region on a map, it is where we do our shopping.

Hohwacht Behrensdorf Lütjenburg Schönberg Heiligenhafen Grömitz Dahme Kellenhusen Fehmarn Neustadt in Holstein Scharbeutz Eutin Malente Plön Kiel … and the whole Baltic coast

We travel further just as happily: the Schlei, the North Sea coast, Mecklenburg, Denmark. For that we charge €0.35 per kilometre one way. If several sites in one region book at the same time, we split the travel between them, so talk to the site next door.

Questions campsite owners ask

What does a 360° tour for a campsite cost?

For a smaller site or a motorhome stopover, ten shooting points are enough: that is our Anleger package at €549 one-off, including the aerial panorama and a year of Campingportal Premium. An established site with sanitary block, catering and rental units sits at €949. The only running cost is hosting the tour with us, €9 a month, and that is free for hosting customers.

Do we have to ask our guests for permission?

We set the shoot up so the question mostly does not arise: a date outside high season, a notice in reception a few days beforehand, and anything that still ends up in frame gets retouched, faces, number plates and name signs included. On seasonal pitches we only photograph where you have agreed it, or we skip the row. This is not legal advice; if your site has an unusual situation, please check it briefly with your association or your lawyer.

When is the best time to shoot?

Early to mid May. Everything is green, the grounds are ready for the season and the site is not full yet. Second best is the second half of September. We are reluctant to shoot in July and August: too many people in frame, light that is too hard, and you have more important things to do.

What exactly is the Campingportal Premium that comes with it?

campingportal.eu is a Europe-wide campsite directory with almost 48,000 sites, and it is our own portal, which we say straight away. Premium means an ad-free listing, highlighted placement, a direct booking enquiry button, your own photos and text to edit, and statistics on how often the listing is opened. It normally costs €69 a year, Premium Plus €149. Every package includes at least one year. When it runs out, it simply ends: there is no automatic renewal.

We are already listed on several portals. Does another one help?

One more listing on its own, not much. The difference is the tour inside it. The big portals let you upload photos and nothing else; a walkable tour is not on offer there and will not be for the foreseeable future. Because campingportal.eu is ours, we can build it in instead of waiting.

Does the tour go on our own website too?

Yes, and that is its main home. From the Saison package up we install it for you, even if the site was not built by us and runs on WordPress, Jimdo or a booking system. With Anleger you get an embed code your webmaster can drop in within minutes.

And in the Google Business Profile?

We upload the individual panoramas there using your Google account, so the images belong to you. They then show up in Search and Maps under your photos. Placement and presentation are Google's call. Anyone promising you otherwise is not better informed, just selling harder.

Are you allowed to fly over our site?

We fly a drone under 250 grams, are registered as an operator with the German aviation authority, hold the EU A1/A3 certificate and carry drone liability insurance. Before every shoot we check the location on the official dipul.de map, which matters on the Baltic coast with its nature and bird reserves. We do not fly over gatherings of people, small drone or not. If your location needs a special permit, we obtain it and tell you beforehand.

We already had drone photos taken. Is that not enough?

Aerial photos show the setting, not the pitch. They answer "where is the site" but not "how close will I be parked" and "what does the shower look like". If you have good aerial photos, we build them into the tour rather than selling you the same thing twice.

What if we rebuild something over the winter?

We swap individual shooting points for €39 each, and the tour does not have to be rebuilt. If you change something every year anyway, take the annual refresh at €149: one new point, updated info points, fresh stills.

Who owns the images?

You do. You get every panorama as a file and may use them for your site without limit in time or place: website, portals, Google, social media, print, trade fairs. We only show images as a reference if you have explicitly agreed.

Not a campsite but a workshop, a practice or a shop? We have a general page for 360° tours where pricing follows shooting points instead of site areas.
