Idle Mogul

development app game

Self-developed native mobile app (iOS), an idle/tycoon game where players rise from street vendor to billionaire in Nova City. 16 industries with 191 businesses, investments in stocks, real estate and crypto, an auction house with AI rivals, plus offline progression. Completely free, no pay-to-win, in German and English. iOS available, Android coming soon.

Starting point

Idle and tycoon games work because progress keeps running even when nobody is actively playing, and because rising from a small operation to a large business stays understandable instead of drowning in spreadsheets of numbers. Many games in the genre solve this with paid advantages that give paying players a clear edge, which works against the actual feel of the game. Building broad progression across many industries without individual industries feeling interchangeable is the real design challenge underneath that.

What we built

Idle Mogul is a native iOS app in which players rise from street vendor to billionaire in Nova City. 16 industries with a total of 191 businesses form the core progression, alongside investments in stocks, real estate and cryptocurrency and an auction house where AI-controlled rivals also bid. Progress continues offline, so players do not have to stay logged in constantly to advance. The app is completely free, with no purchases that grant a gameplay advantage, and fully localized in German and English rather than only superficially translated.

Result

Idle Mogul is available for iOS, with an Android version in preparation. The game runs entirely without a pay-to-win mechanic, with 16 industries and 191 businesses forming the core of its progression system and full localization in German and English.
