No more paper notes, magnet boards and Excel
Carpentry lives in two worlds: pre-cutting in the workshop, raising outside, and the weather often decides only in the morning which one is up. Then the magnet board gets reshuffled, phones ring, everyone improvises. Zimmerwerk maps exactly this routine, dispatching across both worlds, project files for the big jobs, time tracking, equipment and invoicing in one system, from pre-cutting to the topping-out ceremony.
“Workshop and site in one plan. A storm no longer costs a day.”
A working day with Zimmerwerk
From the first coffee to closing time, workshop and site both.

A look at the board and the weather
Storm is forecast for Thursday, so the raising date moves via bad-weather mode, and the crew gets a workshop day for pre-cutting instead. No lost day, no phone marathon.

The crews grab their iPad
“My tour today” shows each crew its sites, packing list attached (chainsaw, fall protection, joist hangers, crane trailer) plus the note from the customer file: “crane ordered, access at the rear.”

The client signs right on the iPad. The 2nd instalment goes out with one click from the project file, numbered automatically.

Carpentry software that reflects the real workday
No trade commutes between two worlds like carpentry: pre-cutting in the workshop, raising on site, and the weather often decides only in the morning which one is up. Zimmerwerk was built for exactly this routine, software for carpentry and timber-construction businesses that works as well in the shop as it does on the roof truss.
Workshop and site in one plan
The dispatch board plans both worlds: workshop days and installation days per crew, swapped via drag & drop. If storm is forecast for Thursday, bad-weather mode moves all installations of the day in one go, and the crew keeps working in the shop instead of losing the day. Crew scheduling in a carpentry business runs without the magnet board and the phone marathon.
The roof truss runs through the project file
A €18,900 roof truss does not run through one invoice. The project file bundles all appointments, photos and hours of the job, actual hours run live against the budget, instalments are numbered automatically, and the final invoice offsets them by itself, compliant, with XRechnung for public-sector clients and developers plus DATEV export for the tax adviser. Instalment invoicing in timber construction becomes a matter of seconds.
Crane, site power and the topping-out
Crane needed, site power available, access at the rear: that sits in the customer file and travels automatically into the crews' tour view, so the crane order no longer fails at the driveway. On site, timestamped photos document progress up to the topping-out, the client signs the acceptance on the iPad, and the invoice is created straight from the appointment. Expensive equipment stays in view too: crane trailer and scaffolding warn on double-booking.
Who is Zimmerwerk made for?
For carpentry and timber-construction businesses with one or several crews: roof trusses, carports, over-rafter insulation and timber decks. Also for every business planning between workshop and site. Whether 3 or 30 employees, Zimmerwerk never charges per user; the whole team is always included in the package price. To get started we recommend the Basis package from €49.90 per month. Most companies choose Pro at €94.90, with invoicing including XRechnung, projects and the route planner.
Frequently asked questions
What does Zimmerwerk cost?
Zimmerwerk comes as a subscription in three packages, hosting, updates and support always included: Basis at €49.90 per month (up to 5 employees), Pro at €94.90 (up to 15 employees, our most popular package) and Premium at €169.90 (unlimited employees, every add-on module included). Prices apply with annual billing, plus VAT; billed monthly: €59.90, €114.90 or €199.90. For Basis and Pro you can add the customer portal (+€19.90), the Agentur package (+€39.90) and the Einsatz package (+€29.90 per month) individually; Premium has it all. Project files and invoicing are included from the Pro package, and you never pay per user.
Can I plan workshop and installation separately?
Yes. The dispatch board plans freely per crew and day: workshop days for pre-cutting, installation days outside, swapped via drag & drop. Bad-weather mode turns an installation day into a workshop day in two clicks, all installations of the day move in one go, and the crew keeps working inside.
How do I invoice a roof truss?
Through the project file: all appointments, photos and hours of the job attach to the project, actual hours run against the budget. Instalments are numbered automatically (1st instalment, 2nd instalment …), and the final invoice offsets all issued instalments by itself, cleanly itemised and compliant.
Can I see whether a project is within budget?
Yes, live: the crews clock onto the project, and actual hours run automatically against the hour budget. The project file shows at any time where the job stands, without waiting on a recalculation.
Does Zimmerwerk warn me about double-booked equipment?
It does: when creating an appointment, Zimmerwerk checks whether the crane trailer or scaffolding package is already scheduled on another site the same day and warns immediately. It is a warning, not a block, so you decide. The dashboard widget also shows which tool is out where today.
Can I write invoices with Zimmerwerk?
Yes, invoicing is a core feature, not a paid add-on. Invoices are created straight from the completed appointment, right after the client signature if you wish, with positions prefilled from the service template. Invoice numbers are compliant and gap-free, and the number range is freely configurable, so existing businesses continue seamlessly from their last number. There is also a PDF with your own letterhead, open items, payment reminders and dunning with one click. Prefer to work without the invoicing module? Just hide it.
Does my tax adviser get the data?
Yes, and it takes one click: the DATEV export produces the posting batch plus all document PDFs for the chosen period, ready to hand to the firm.
What do I need to use Zimmerwerk?
Just a browser. Zimmerwerk runs as your own instance with its own database on German servers, hosting, updates and support included in every package. We handle setup and data migration, then you get your login and start work. Prefer your own server, or buying outright? Custom solutions are available on request.
Can I test Zimmerwerk beforehand?
Yes, the live demo is open to everyone: a complete installation with a sample company, two carpentry crews, 12 tools, priced templates and a running project including an issued instalment invoice. Tap “Als Chef testen” (test as boss) on the login page, done. It resets itself every 30 minutes. Want to compare several trades? The demo hub at demos.pixagentur.com shows all live demos at a glance.
Does it work on the iPad and without reception?
Yes. Zimmerwerk is a web app (PWA) with an app icon on the home screen. The time clock and daily tour work even without reception and sync as soon as the network returns.
Does the software run under my company name?
Yes, white-label is standard: login, app name and business details carry your company, and invoices appear on your own letterhead.
What about data protection?
Your customer and employee data lives in your own instance with its own database on German servers, GDPR-compliant and kept strictly apart from other companies. Roles and permissions control who sees what, an audit log tracks every change, and uploaded photos are automatically stripped of GPS data.
Can Zimmerwerk be adapted or extended for my company?
Yes. Modules switch off individually, and beyond that, from extra fields to whole extensions such as quoting or a client portal, we build additions on request at a fixed price. Fastest way in: our ticket system. Describe the wish, get a fixed-price quote back.
Are there any hidden costs?
No. You pay the package price, that is it: no per-user licences, no setup fee, no extra charges for updates or support. Setup and data migration from your current solution are included as well. The only addition is statutory VAT, and you can cancel any month.
